This last weekend was a busy one. But I still managed to make a quick run to the beach. The tide was high, which means very little beach. And not having enough time to surf, we cruzed down what little beach there was. As we came around the corner. I noticed an interesting scene that I have seen a hundred times before. The difference today was the sound.  I instantly thought of Puamana Beach in the Hawaiian Islands.

As a Hula dancer, Puamana was one of the first songs we learned. It speaks of “a beautiful home on a beach in Lahaina that is nestled along the shore with the bright Moon glistening on the whispering surf”

“Home nani

Home I ka ‘ae kai

Ke konane a ka mahina

U Ke Kai hawanawana”

My Ukulele Kumu (teacher) talks story of the rocks being tossed in the surf and making music all by themselves. Also when the moon is full, the Moonlight reflects off the rolling  Stones to make stars in the water. To have this phenomenon visit on my home beach is nothing short of amazing to me.  The constant state of change. With every visit, I am treated to a new view in the same old spot. A awesome reminder for me or that change is the only constant in life!  Where is your favorite beach? When was the last time you were there? I’d love to hear!

Aloha
